The Alyth Museum explores the rich social, economic and natural history of this village and region of Perthshire, Scotland.  It tells the story of the people of Alyth and displays a substantial range of artefacts from bygone times. There is a interesting collection of heritage photographs, medical instruments, toys, textiles and farming equipment. Specific displays include a manse parlour, dairy, kitchen, laundry and schoolroom. There are over 7,500 items in the collection. Of particular interest is the 19th century Blairgowrie Drunk’s Cart which was used to transport those no longer capable of walking due to the effects of a surplus of alcohol. The Museum overlooks the Burn of Alyth – a tributary of the River Isla.
