Fuelled by enthusiasm and staffed by volunteers it is a great day out for all the family. Engine enthusiasts from all over the world come to visit this fascinating museum with engines of all sizes (from desktop to 100 tons), It is now a must see for non-enthusiasts too.
Open one weekend a month throughout summer with engines running every open day. It has an excellent Local History area and Gift Shop with Free Car Parking. The team has freefree WiFi which can be used by visitors. There are Craft Demonstrations and a ‘steam section’ of the museum that includes the largest steam engine in Cheshire. Visitors can also see the first diesel engine ever made in the UK.
