This is a neolithic dolmen from an ancient burial chamber and dates back to around 3000BC. It is estimated that the capstone weighs 25 tonnes. In folklore it’s believed to mark the place where the legendary King Arthur fought a major battle. The stone is considered important as a place where ancient druids may have met and some people believe it’s to be a good spot to ‘watch’ for UFO’s.
