Aysgarth Falls on the River Ure are some of the most beautiful in England. The water cascades over three wide steps each – sometimes calm and tranquil but at others a raging torrent as water from the Yorkshire Dales races towards the sea. The falls are considered one of the natural wonders of Northern England and are surrounded by oak woodland and fields. They were used as an outdoor location for the 1991 blockbuster film “Robin Hood – Prince of Thieves”, which starred Kevin Costner. The area is rich in wildlife and flowers.
