Blackpool first became fashionable as a seaside resort during the Victorian era and has remained popular ever since. Blackpool Pleasure Beach attracts more visitors than any other amusement park in Britain ranks within the top twenty worldwide. It commands an excellent position in the South Shore district alongside the Fylde coast and across Promenade street from the beach. It features almost 40 rides of which twelve are roller coasters. The park also has the world’s longest “dark ride’ – Valhalla. The park seems just as appealing to spooks as it does to the living. The ghost train is said to be haunted by a wraith called Cloggy , a ghostly girl sometimes appears in the gift shop and the ice rink is said to be home to several phantom skaters. Also … a giant plastic apple mysteriously vanished one night and has never been seen again. Spooks and tall stories aside Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a wonder destination if you’re looking for excitement, the seaside and all the fun of the fair.
