Aston Hall is a Jacobean-style mansion in Aston, Birmingham.It’s believed that it was the inspiration for Bracebridge Hall in Washington Irving’s novel by the same name. Today it features a museum as well as many rooms furnished in the styles of the 17th and 18th century. Built by Sir Thomas Holte is said to be haunted by his daughter Mary who was imprisoned in the house until she went mad and died.
